Because we are. I have Scorpio in my chart four times and Pisces twice. I have a lot of intensity, and it's great. Intensity is sexy and while it will scare off some people, others will be drawn to it. Along with that air of mystery we give off, it's no wonder we're known to be the most magnetic sign. Personally, I wouldn't want to be any other way. I agree with darestobelieve that it would suck to be someone like a Libra. I was engaged to one and they're so wishywashy and lacking in depth, everything is equal with them and their interests change like the weather. I don't know how anyone could stand being so changeable. Enjoy being a Scorpio. :)

I think many are, but I have come across many Scorpios that do not exhibit those traits. However, I would assume then that they have a moon or rising, or both, in a sign like Libra or Gemini.
I think also the house your sun is in makes a difference too.
I am a Taurus but my sun is in the 8th house (the house of Scorpio) and I act more like a Scorpio than many actual Scorpios. People often think I am one.
However, my ex-boyfriend was Scorpio with a Gemini rising and my current boyfriend is a Scorpio with a Libra rising and both are way more calm and less jealous than a typical Scorpio.

You're joking, right? I know someone who got fired for messing around on Yahoo all day at work despite warnings. I'm allowed on the internet at work, but I only ever go there on my lunchbreak to read news or if something extremely historical is happening (then our boss encourages it). I don't do message boards, yahoo answers, or blogs etc. at work even on my break. We're treated like responsible adults, but they do have the power to restrict our access. I don't want to mess that up. I'd LOVE to have a laptop, though, so I could sit out on my deck in the summer during the evenings and do Y!A, etc. That would be awesome!
