An astronomer is not a very well paid job but it offers great satisfaction. If you want money go for business studies, IT or engineering.
In college you will need physics, mathematics, chemistry, geology and of course astronomy and astrophysics. All research professional astronomers have postgraduate degrees it is actually an academic career and not a professional career so the typical pathway would be college/university degree, PhD, postdoctoral research etc. etc. Then you will be able to work for university or government research bodies.
