A common answer is probably going to be edema, which is technically wrong, since edema is strictly the accumulation of fluid, and NOT cells.

A more correct answer is exudative which includes BOTH fluid component and cellular material.

Im not sure about the second half of the sentence, but lots of things direct micration- mostly chemokines (which are a subset of cytokines).

If you wanted to be super old school, another correct answer would be tumor, from the four classical signs of inflammation - dolor (pain), calor (heat), rubor (redness) and tumor (swelling).

Actually, that would be an abcess or edema. Edema is just a general term for swelling. An abcess would be an fluid filled infected mass. They are best drained and perhaps a drain placed. Abcesses poor blood supply makes for slow healing sometimes.
