i haven't known the past secretary-generals so i can't really say that Kofi Annan is the best but i can say, though, that I'm not very impressed with what he has done so far. There are many issues concerning world peace and security today but UN seems to be a little reserved in taking actions about it. They have only done so much as give support to countries devastated by calamities and aid the third world countries primarily in Africa by providing some supplies. I think UN must take one more step forward in maintaining peace and promoting equality and prosperity throughout the world and i would vote the secretary-general who can do that to be the best. It may seem too much of a dream but where else can you base the greatness of a Secretary-general other than that? As an organization of the nations of the world, i think it is just right that i expect that of the secretary-generals.

You are obviously biased in his favour, because he is your countryman, Mr. Onukpa! The job of a UN Secretary-general is not a straight forward one and its success depends on several factors, including chance and luck. Some people describe it as the world's most impossible job, while the less cynical say it is the world's top diplomatic job. Both descriptions are probably correct. If ever there can be such a thing as the "best Secretary-General of all time", only future and not contemporary historians can tell.

Man are you blind !! He fiddled while the rivers ran red in Rawanda, He and his family made millions in the "Food for oil scandal", he was one of the most do nothing, crooked U.N. Secretary-Generals of all time.
