Dr House is correct, but not in this context - 1Mb should read 1 Mb/sec and 4 Mb should read 4Mb/sec - ie the rate at which (at least theoretically) data can flow across the cable.

If you are happy to receive your data at the current speed, then there is no reason to change (and pay more?) ... if on the other hand you feel that you have to wait a long time for your data to arrive, then maybe 4 Mb/sec is the way to go.
However, the rate at which you receive your data is NOT ONLY governed by the speed of the cable, it is also governed by the usage of all the servers between the data source and your machine.
I hope this helps... but probably only confuses the question more.

Apparently you're not literate at all. Nice run-on sentence. >.>

Anyway, yes, they're right. A 4mb connection is 4 times faster than your old 1mb one. It's not going to help you how much space is on your computer, it'll just speed up your browsing and downloads.

In plain english? Megabyte isnt a measure of speed! Its a measurement of data or memory space! You either want to add more memory in megabytes or you want to increase your processor speed in megahertz! Make up my mind!
