so that when you ask a question that is vastly similar to others that have already been asked and resolved, rather than just listing these, the asker MUST review them and either choose a new 'best answer' or rewrite the question so that it is not so dang similar?

I do not think so. Is there any computer program sophisticated enough to decide that your new question is vastly similar to others already asked and resolved? I agree that participants will give different answers based on the identity of the new folk who answer. Also, does not "freedom of speech" extend to Yahoo! Answers participants? It would be unethical to discriminate against those who wish to repeat established questions!

No, because some questions need to be asked over and over until we get a more informed answer. And the anwers will change, because there are different users on at different times who might be more qualified to answer. And Yahoo adds different countries all the time and then we get a whole new group of users, some of them who are very smart.

+ no just leave it the same. You can get more different answers at later times so it is just as effective. also I noticed that some same questions were in more than one category so that different kinds of people might answer them. It seems to be as much about the answers as it is about the questions. I answer more than I ask, so lets not discourage askers. at least for this answerer's sake.

LOL It sounds like a good idea to me.

We sure would have a lot less "How can I tell this guy in my class that I like him" questions!
