in california, what was the last year you could convert a dirt bike into a street legal dual sport? i know that if the VIN has a "C" in it it means you can not convert it, but i don't know when that started.

In 1973 all bikes coming into the country for street use had to have lights/directionals/horn etc etc. Bikes sold for off road only came with paper work that stated such. Still, there are ways to get around it, and there are people operating semi-legal dirt bikes on the road

to make any bike street legal, it just takes turn signals, head light, brake lights. and isurance
