No the Beatles are not overrated at all. They had a lot of great hits. I love the Beatles.

I TRULY believe the Beatles ---if anything--- are UNDERrated! I truly believe that and, yes, I realize that they are the most highly regarded band in rock history. But the incredible number of GREAT songs they gave us in a mere SEVEN YEARS will very likely never be equaled by anyone else in a lifetime (and that doesn't even include numerous great songs that the lads did on their own, after they split up). That the two geniuses Paul McCartney and John Lennon ever met and teamed up is staggering. Add George and Ringo and producer George Martin and you have an unfathomably powerful combination of talents. Paul McCartney alone probably stands unchallenged as THE melodic genius of the 2nd half of the 20th century. John Lennon was a genius in his way as well. We will likely not see a coming together of such immense talent again in our lifetime. The Beatles overrated? IMPOSSIBLE!

Somebody told me that the Beatles were a science that emulated what everybody else was doing only better. That is how they captured the times so well.

Oh, thank you for this question!
Yes, they are overrated!
The Baby Boomers just love their precious Beatles.
They stopped live performances in 1966 and broke up in 1970, after forming in about 1960?
They couldn't last.

Yes they are. They came after Elvis had paved the way to "idolism". On their own, thrown to the period before Elvis, they would`f been nobodies even to this day.

Their music is so old sounded, and bases to shouting loud in choir. I`d imagine some terrorists would use that music for brain washing or torture.. ;)

Some of their stuff is but overall no. They were a great band that changed the world, I don't think any of today's music measures up.

I think the Beatles are one of the most over-rated bands of all time. Not one of the guys in the band was a virtuoso on an instrument. Also, alot of their songs were more fu-fu than a Sandra Bulluck movie....and that's bad. The Stones and Who so kicked their butts!

Yea, There were pretty good and did new stuff, but they don't deserve to be worshipped the way they are.
