You were never best friends with but were good enough friends , so you thought that would make the friendship stronger -because you had a lot in common, and you thought the friendship would last a life time, but started to realize it might not be what you expected? How did you finally let go of the friendship, you thought was a hit?

It's a difficult thing to let go of a friendship. This is exactly what happened to me once and it hurt a lot. I totally understand your situation. Sometimes, friendships aren't made to be - and as hard as it may feel, letting go can be best solution. No one likes to lose friends. The way I let go of my "friend" was to wish him the best in life. I thanked him for the short time that we were friends and told him that the time we DID spend together was fun. It took a lot of courage to do it, but afterward, I felt like at least I made an effort to end the friendship on a positive tone, and besides, I felt like I was the more mature one...LOL.

I ended it after an argument. I've not been to her house since July. Sure, I miss her, sometimes terribly, but with time it has gotten easier.

The hardest was resisting the temptation to call her in the beginning.
