around the holidays?

Some, don't have family or friends around or at all. Some have lost family or friends due to death around this time. Usually people who are all ready depressed and hate their lives year around, get more depressed cause the holidays remind them more of what they do not have, wish they had and or lost, becoming more unbearable. Did you know they say that the holidays, there are more suicides than the whole year around? Very sad.

One possibility is simply because of seasonal depression. It is known that depression kicks in around the wintertime more often than during summer because there is less sunshine. Sun is a natural high. People are happier and in better moods when it's sunny. If you're going specifically for holidays, it can be a depressing time for someone who does not have any family or friends to celebrate with while everyone else does and is happy.

Its life little stresses, people are stressed out from work everyday and always stressed about money. Throw in the Holidays, time, money, work, kids, cooking, cleaning and worrying about pleasing everyone and buying a zillon gifts....I think that explains it. The best thing to do is try to relax, dont go above your means financially (no matter how bad you want to please someone else) and try to enjoy your self a little and take a break!! :-) Happy Holidays

There are a lot of reasons that people get depressed. 1 could be the stress of trying to find just the right gift for all the picky people in your life. not having enough money to get everything that you are wanting to get another could be missing all your loved ones that have passed away.and the biggest one is: people are just down right rude they have a clue what it is to have the Christmas spirit!!

Perhaps because our day to day routine is changing so much for the holidays. We are showing loved ones that we care. We spent so much energy & big efforts to make everything perfect & yet we meet wit the criticism & disaproval. We realise that one more year is gone .. and so much more
