The flickering and change of colour on your monitor screen is due to and high magnetic object near your monitor ( it could be a UPS or Stabilizer or Speaker), or there could be a high tention wire running near your computer area.

There reason for your problem of flickering is that when electrons that are comming out of your cathode tube (from your monitor) to strike on the screen are being magitically or electrically pulled by either of the field that is running near your monitor. so the electrons strike abnormally on the screen creating a flickering effect.

try to on and off your monitor simultaneously for about 5 second. and see what happens.
try to move away any speaker close to your monitor, it is caused by the magnet in it.
