Have you, or someone you know, ever suffered as a result of having done a friend, or family member, a big favour?

I had to drive to the airport to pick up my drugged sister and droved 400 kilometres to return her safely at home. In the process I had a very big fight with my supervisor for taking time out for this emergency and i spent $400 but no the whole episode was not appreciated. I nearly lost my job out of it.

We probably feel that way because we can be hurt more when we do something from the bottom of our heart and it is not appreciated or it opens a can of worms. If we knew we did not to the right thing (just the thing that felt better) we will be better able to understand that we have gotten people upset at us and take our lumps.

Yes, it always happens. I think everyone above agrees. But isnt it a shame? Surely WE dont appreciate when someone does something for us too. I know I have been like that and it wasnt intentional.

I do find it hard not to take revenge though. I may be wrong but if you dont let them know they havent appreciated you in certain circumstances, they will start to take advantage.

Yes, you put yourself on the line for them and they mess it all up. Like finding a job for a friend, and he doesn't turn up, looks really bad on you. Happened to me before, now I can't bring anybody in. Lesson learnt.

Oh yes and sadly, in my lifetime at least, I don't see them getting the justice that they so deserve.
