Can you link me to some images on the net? I've never heard of this type of glasses. I'm guessing it's something from the past?

They are glasses that people who are almost blind have to have.
very thick---
and yes it is an expression from the past. they are able to make them thinner these days.

You are being too complicated here.

'Coke bottle glasses' is a slang term for really thick glasses.

Have you ever looked through the bottom of a coke bottle? Now think of looking at someones face who had thick glasses.... looking into them would look all blury like than.

coke bottle glasses is just another word for (Big a** glasses) Like bifocals or something. It's just a really mean way to say it!

back in the "olden days" they used REALLY thick glasses and the poor little kids w/ those glasses. when you look at an old coke bottle that is made of glass and look thru the bottom, its hecka thick glass and so were those glasses, therefore, coke bottle glasses
