sounds like the Fuel pump is going out on it, Could be a clogged fuel filter or something similar. fromt eh basics it sounds like something small to me and they don't want to mess with it but I can't really say for sure what the real cuase is W/O checking it out. I'm sure the owner knows this is a problem. If you like the car talk to them and be upfront, say Hey I like the car but I need to know what is wrong with it and what it's going to take to fix it, have a mechanic look at it get a quote and then offer a reasonable price based on everything. Buying a car with a problem can be a good thing for everyone involved or it can be a bad thing. It might be for sale because the owner has gotten there use out of it, knows theres a problem does not want to deal with it no matter how small or big it is and just put it up for sale to get it gone. Maybe they can't justify fixing it for how much they use it. In this day and age ALOT of families have 3 vehicles and if something goes wrong with it alot of people unload it W/O even bothering to find out what is wrong with it.

Either in the trunk, or in the middle of the hump below the dash where the carpet meets the fire wall, you will find a fuel cutout (safety) switch. You can go over a railroad too hard and cause this switch to trip. It is designed to shut down the fuel flow in an accident, but sometimes they will trip by just a hard jolt from hitting something or a pothole in the road. This safety device can be a pain in the neck, but it must be there to keep you from being burned alive in an accident. This switch is either tripped, bad, or malfunctioning. Another thing that can cause this is; a plugged up fuel filter. Find where the switch is and reset it, and you should be back in business. If you can't located it, try looking in the owners manual for the location of the fuel pump safety switch. It is there, but might take a little while to find it. Also you need to check for a fuse being loose, or a fuse that looks good, but when tapped on will loose power due to a defect. I have saw fuses that looked fine, but were no good. Can make a person pull their hair out trying to figure out what in the world is going on.
Be patient, as you will find the culprit, but it may take a while. A vacuum leak where one of the hoses plugs on can be split and cause similar problems. The Light should be ran up on a code scanner to see what it says the problem is, and this will give you the correct place to begin looking.
Glad I could help. good Luck!!!

Well now you know why it is for sale and this is a good thing, lol. Find another probe instead of this one. They are pretty quick with the 5 speed, and at one point it was to be the replacement for the mustang. It is actually a mazda, not built by ford at all. Do more research and look around for others. You do not need to buy other people's headaches- let that one go for sure.

you have some achieveable problems with the truck. the 1st achieveable situation is that the reservoir tank would have a crack on the overflow or grant hose inlet/outlet. A 2d threat is the reservoir bottle itself is cracked someplace to boot the ports. whilst the truck is desiring coolant its leaking out of one of those ports. a third threat is that a hose has a crack or hollow and dealing out whilst engine is desiring coolant. A fourth threat is the coolant leaking from the radiator fins and using UV dye might assist you on looking the crack. a undemanding leaking section the port holes on the water pump. The 5th threat is the thermostat replaced into caught closed for a jiffy to reason the leaking and the thermostat reopened after the coolant stress went backpedal.

I think its might just be in need of a tune up, fuel pumps and filters rarely go out on this car, at worst its the filter. The 93 and 94 disty's are notorious for being crappy, might be it going out. They are mazda's and are great reliable cars if you maintain them.
Hope you get it! Ps dont get it if its and automatic they are junk.
