Your parents are right pal, for two reasons, # 1 In most cases money can not buy you happiness, say you have a fatal disease, wave a few 100's over the tumor and see what happens? Nothing right? Okay now who loves you? Really who loves you?
And is it for your money? No right? So that's the best I can do for you is tell you those two things. But money is a tool to use for things you need to expand your knowledge your business, your families for well-being, and survival. But fun fun fun and everyone hanging around you because you have money, well that is buying friendship and then when your money runs out they are not there anymore. I think for all the toys that people have in this world they should start sharing more, and then instead of making us into hermits with all the games on-line, and TV entertainment centers, that is real lonely man.

By principle money can't buy money, although we have managed to evolve our economic system as to do so. For sure money can't buy you luck either. It can buy you a number of tangible things, however if you treat other people as objects, however many you manage to corrupt with money, for sure they will double cross you in the end. So all the hungry money makers out there be advised.

No, not really. I think your parents're right since, from my experience, I know money's not our boss since it should be something like our financial assistant and we can be content and happy with sufficient money. I have met some senior citizens in their 80's, 90's, 100's who are still happy with some money or less, they're not rich at all. You can see money can't by their longevity, rather it's something about their good mental and physical health that doesn't imply they're rich so they live longer.

money isn't everything, it's all about power and freedom. The power to do and get what you want and the freedom from any obligations or obstacles. Money isn't everything, but realistically, it provides a way to get what one wants and needs, a person has his or her own definition of happiness, and that may or may not include material goods, but in this world, having money does provide security if not happiness.

Yes, Money can buy a lot of things...
But, ask yourself, Why do people buy so many things??
Answer: Because they feel empty and needy.
No matter how much money you have, It can't fill your heart.
No matter how many things you buy, it doesn't feed your soul.
Some of the richest people in this country, are miserable.
It's an old saying , but true..............
Money can't buy happiness, money can't buy love. (Just fact.)

Money isn't everything, but it is something. It helps get the things you need to get you where you're going.
And I'd rather have a pile full of money than a heart full of jesus love any day.

i disagree. please read epictetus. the problem with money is that it can lead you to boredom (Schopenhauer), and once lost you're completely shattered. The object that once you desired, will later bore you and you will have to look for new objects of desire. but if you do not get these, you will suffer, and there are always things you will not get.

People who don't have money think that money is everything, whereas people with lots of money think that money isn't everything....So, the conclusion is "nobody is satisfied with what they have"
