Most likely the summer semester is an interim semester, meaning that you will go to classes every day for about 4 to 6 hours, for one week, then the summer semester will be over and you will have a couple of days off before the next semester starts.

Summer courses mean that you have to be in class for a very long time every single day. But you get done with the semester faster.

the summer semester, depending on the college, is the same as a normal semester...just shorter amount of time so the classes are a little longer ie instead of 50 min its 1hr 20min...and they finish before fall semester starts (and most of the time are easier than the other two terms)
