It's done on purpose, it's a step toward idiocracy. If I can get people to stop reading, because it's too difficult on account every letter combination looks like every other letter combination, then they will stop reading, and I can force them to enrich my castle, because they are dumber than sheep lined up for the conveyor belt for slaughter. The people who selected that font where many letters look like many other letters are trying to get you to quit reading. It's like when two soldiers are fighting, and one reaches for sand to throw in his eyes, if you can get your enemy to stop thinking, you can choose the battlefield, and you can choose when to win.
