I am sure you find this comment a little hard with most of the world going ga-ga on PS3/Xbox 360.
My personal opinion is it depends entirely on the kind of the user/gamer. I have played games on small consoles to PCs to PS. didnt get a chance to experiment with XBOX but i guess for the kind of comment i have it dosen't matter much.
Out of all the forms i have been involved with the most entertaining as well as enthralling experience was playing a game on PC on a network. Nothing comes close to the experience of multiplayers gaming. Though there are usually built in robots in single player with whom you can play against, after a while they become perdictable and boring.
One most important difference b/w playing a multiplayer game on a network from the same on PS/XBOX is that every player in the pc format gets his own screen. Where as in case of PS/XBOX the same screen is split or you play at different times. Of course the online gaming does satisfy this need to certain extent but only certain. A LAN any day is much faster.
Considering the investment the value for money is better when you use a pc for gaming as it also serves a lot of other purpose than just playing DVD music/movies.
A PC is almost a need for everyone and does exist in every home and with a good performant one you can get graphics close to what you get with PS/XBOX. Just get the additional few accessories like a joystick or racing kit and you have a great system to rock.
But of course if you are not a PC guy and would not be interested to get one just for gaming then may be this is a good choice.
Coming to justifying just the price of PS/XBOX, as of today there are no games in the market which utilize the true potential of these systems. It should take a while few months or an year to actually build games which make use of the high performance chips these systems boast of. By that time you should be able to get better deals on these systems and should also have a plethora of games available to play.
It does not make much sense to spend so much and play games which were actually developed for the earlier versions of these systems.

I think so.
Lair, Final Fantasy XIII, FF XIII Vs, Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Virtua Fighter 5, Tekken 6, Heavenly Sword.
There's probably some more that I missed, but you get the point.
