I have never been diagnosed with it by a physician......I diagnosed myself. I remember when I was like 10 years old I had an OCD experience, and then in my early 20s in came in full blast. I manage to live with it but I don't want to take medication so I never went to a physician to have it 'diagnosed' per se.
It includes obsessive thoughts, disturbing irrational thoughts that I actual believe to be true.....the crazy part about it is that you would think if you know it's not true, then why do you believe it?....that's why I have the OCD....my mind doesn't think rationally during those times. The thoughts and resulting actions are due to what I perceive will be a negative action or event taking place. Alot of these thoughts are a tangled web of sexuality, spirituality, and superstition. The actions include touching, walking, saying, and just plain doing things the "right" way, so as to avoid these perceived negative actions or events from taking place. I can hide it when I have to....in front of others, but it has made my life a living hell for the last 7 to 8 years. I've always thought a solution is around the corner and still hold out hope. But then in finding a solution there is a web of OCD......that's how crazy it can be.

I was diagnosed with a MILD form of OCD, basically I have to do things in a routine, like I do the same routine in the shower i.e. shampoo, conditioner, soap, and the order of which body parts i wash is important too, if I get out of order I redo everything, also I have to brush my teeth before I get in the shower or it ruins the routine. It started when I was about 10 but I didn't see a counselor until I was like 13, it's not a big deal so I don't have meds or anything like that. Hope that helps.

I know you have a serious question here, so I'll tell you this: I think everyone has OCD tendencies to a degree. With that said, you should look into the life of Howard Hughes (also portrayed by Leo DiCaprio in The Aviator) for a good example. There's lots of resources out there!
Hope that helps....just wanted to answer because I identify with that a little, even though it's never come up with me medically.

I was diagnosed with OCD a little over two years ago at the age of 25. Although it has gone undiagnosed or treated I believe that both my sister, mother, and father suffer from some form of OCD as well.
According to this site 3.3 million adult Americans (NIMH); 2.3% adults (NIMH); 1 in 50 people (NWHIC); 2.4% adults (USSG) are currently suffering from OCD.
Approx 1 in 43 or 2.30% or 6.3 million people in USA have suffered from OCD at some point in their lives.

I AM PRETTY SURE I DO HAVE OCD IN A MILD FORM. I HAVE SEEN DOCUMENTARIES ON IT AND I CAN RELATE TO THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED. I DO ALOT OF THE SAME THINGS THAT THEY DO. FOR EXAMPLE, I HAVE TO CHECK THE LOCKS ON MY DOORS AT LEAST 5 OR 6 TIMES BEFORE I GO TO BED AT NIGHT. I HAVE NEVER BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH IT BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER BROUGHT IT TO MY DOCTOR'S ATTENTION. I STARTED NOTICING SYMPTOMS WHEN I WAS ABOUT 14 OR SO. IT IS NOT AS SEVERE AS IT ONCE WAS. ALTHOUGH, IT DOES TEND TO COME OUT WHEN I GET IN SITUATIONS WHERE I AM NERVOUS.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR REPORT. IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE INFORMATION YOU CAN EMAIL ME ABOUT IT.

i have it, have had it since I was in my early 40's and I still have the tendencies to go around & check all the doors at least 10 times before I go to bed. The rest of the OCD disorder is pretty much under control.

I, too, have this situation. In my little international, no you could even have long fingernails. Fingernails would not be allowed to come back to the top of your palms. same element applies to toenails. decrease them, tear them, bite them, bite them, document them, yet merely get rid of them. and individuals's diets could get replaced so as that the fingernails could proceed to be on the thin area. I definitely won't be able to stand to work out thick fingernails or toenails. that's extremely repulsive to me. and because it somewhat is my little international, even with the undeniable fact that it has no longer something to do with OCD, at age 30-All persons could be sterilized. in case you had babies in the previous you have been 30, then solid, in case you planned to attend...Too undesirable. so as that any undesirable babies out right here could have of venture of being observed. hey, it somewhat is merely my little international. And it can be a capital offense to wreck an animal and if it have been a relatives animal mutually with a puppy, the guy could get the dying penalty. hey, it somewhat is my Utopia.

Never been diagnosed nor treated for it, but maybe have some of the traits for it.
Such as:
Repeatedly washing my hands,
Not being able to rest until I get perfection,
Playing a game over and over until I can't be beaten,
Having a one-track mind and can't get off a topic,
Insistence on being right.
Many people show these types of traits and they don't realize it!
Any of this help?
