Are there any asocial mammals, or do all mammals organize in family/herd groups?

No, I would say that many, if not most mammals are solitary. Take foxes, for example. Grizzly bears, for example. Coyotes, for example. I could go on, but the list would overpopulate this site, even with my old man's memory.

Of course not. Tens of mammal species' individuals are solitary. (not the cheetah as a previous answerer stated, though). Especially some of the smaller species.

Badgers, platypus, mountain lions, cheetahs, wolverines and opossums are a few examples of antisocial mammals. They are loners except during mating and offspring rearing.

Many mammals are loners exept when it's time to screw, such as the small felines like the lynx, puma, and mountain lion.

Oranutans live a solitary life, leopards and cheetahs also.
