Congratulations on having yet another ignorant question. You must not know any black women, know only a few, or go by what you see or hear. The majority of black women I know don't have an attitude. Why do you feel that black women walk around mad at the past? Because you go by what you hear?

I am a black woman and I think that I have a very nice attitude, I am constantly being told how friendly and positive I am. So I think you are making a sweeping generalization, and if people often have an attitude with you, perhaps you should look at yourself for answers. I am sure if you are warm and friendly with other people you won't get as much "attitude" that you are getting. If people continue to be rude then brush it off and move on.
Furthermore, attitude is definitely not something that is exclusive to black women. American women in general tend to be very forward and outspoken. But for some reason when it is a Black woman, people are intimidated, annoyed, or offended.
Finally I don't think that you would like it if someone came on here and made a rude sweeping generalizations about white women. I think that you should consider having respect for other people and perhaps you will get some respect in return. You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

What woman doesn't get an attitude? I think that you need to stop buying the media stereotype of the angry black woman and learn to think and judge for yourself. You can't say all black women have an attitude because you haven't met all black women.

Wow! I don't know the black women you have encountered but that is just a crazy statement. Maybe you just notice the "attitudes" of the black women and overlook the some attitudes in the women of your race.
Like I have said on this site before - why are people with closed minds always the first to open their mouths?

To give a detailed answer to this question would result in an essay. But a general answer is that the idea that women of color possess a constant "attitude" is a stereotype. It is similar to stereotype that all white women are weak, naive, office sluts, like Monica Lewinsky and Nicole Brown Simpson.
People have their good days. People have their bad days. Their attitude is only a method of expressing the way that they feel.
By the way, not typing the word "slavery" does not mean that it - slavery - did not happen. America it's time to embrace the good as well as the bad things about this country.

I've worked with black women who were more educated than me and had grace to go with it . If they showed attitude, it was because someone had it commin'. Kinda like my mother does and she is not catagorized as black. Now, I also admired the sisterhood that seems to go with some I have met. Your statement is very broad. You know Condi Rice has the confidence of a lot of people besides the president. Dang, will I be glad when we get past all this.

I am a black women and I don't have an attitude that is just a stereotype and you should not buy into it. All black women are not sassy with attitudes any body can get an attitude if you cross that line and make them.

Maybe all the black women you talk to have an attitude because you make such ridiculous assumptions about them. Everyone gets an attitude when people discriminate and make assumptions about them.

Thats like saying all white people are racist.
All mexicans hopped the border.
Its not true.
Not ALL of them. I can understand maybe some of them but not all of them. You may think they ALL do because have you ever thought how they felt?
Having white people look at you at just thinking your another sl.ut. Not having a chance to explain because the truth is not all of them are like others.
And we would feel ashamed because they are the ones getting hurt in all of this.
I agreee with some have attiudes.
But not all.
But once again, thats just me. Just another person.

Well lets see I am a black woman and I don't always have an attitude. Why do white people place other nationalities into to stereotypical categories. Just because a few black women you have encountered had an attitude does not mean that we all do. I have a question for you, why is it that white people don't wash their hands after they use the bathroom, that is so nasty. Since you want to act as if you have met all the black women in the world I will act as if I have met all the white people in the world. Since I have been in a few restrooms and seen white women leave without washing their hands then I will come to the same conclusion you have.
