It was released here in Aus today. I though it would be packed out because it's been had so much advertising and exposure but the kids are still at school until tommorrow and the adults are still working (I'm on hols so went and watched it at lunch time.)

Hey! That;s not fair...it doesn't come out where i'm at until Friday!!! >_< Judging by the previews, though, it seemed fairly close to the book, but of course, the previews make everything seem Oscar material. To be honest, though, it would be difficult to make a book that large and that plot-heavy into an accurate movie. Think Lord of the Rings....the movie was light years away from the book, but it was still good from a media perspective. Movies aren't meant to take the place of books, and it's always interesting to see a new take on the book, right? I mean, who wants to go watch a movie where the actors quote lines verbatim?

I study he books they're awesome I spent a reliable day studying that an Eldest they're somewhat truly worth the study i believe cheated with the movie even with the reality that because now each and every tom dick and harry thinks they learn about it, you gotta study the e book because they ought to leave stuff out of the movie.

I haven't seen it, so is it better or worse than the book. I heard a TV movie commentator give it a rating 1 out of 5?

my boyfriend and I loved the book. The previews do look a lot different though, and the game is also a lot different, with a few common scenes.

Blast, I love the books. Why can't Hollywood tell a story decently.
