I care, but except for charity there is little that I can do.

Starting in July 2003 after the Second Second Sudanese Civil War the Moslem population of Sudan decided to whipe out the “Arfrican” population. Earlier their targets had been the Christians who lived in the area. The Sudaninese government claims to not support the rebel Muslim faction; the Janjaweed, but few people believe it. The Janjaweed are trying to kill or force every non-Muslim out of the country, in some of the bloodest fighting ever seen. The casuality rate from the First and Second Sudanese Civil Wars matched that of WW2 for all sides. Now there is no organized defense against the Janjaweed, the government refuses to do anything to stop them and they just keep killing non-Muslim Africans.

Most of the Africans have fled the country into Ethiopea which is suffering yet another fammine. So the problems are pretty bad. The Janjaweed are performing some of the most brutal ethnic cleasning the world has ever seen. Rape is seen as a very bad thing to happen to women by the African culture of the region, so when Janjaweed capture women they always rape them, not just one or two, but a dozen men rape the woman. There hope is that the child born will be a Janjaweed. After the rape they bite the woman on the arm to show that she has been raped by at least one Janjaweed.

As for the males they just kill them, including anyone 12 years or older. The Africans are still living in tribes with the same technology that they have had since after the Ancient Egyptian Empire fell. They have a few radios and such, but most of their weapons are wooden spears and animal skin shields. They have no defense from the Janjaweed bearing AK-47s, all they can do is to run. When the Janjaweed find an African village they burn it to the ground. They try to do everything to kill off the native people. This is what happens when you let the Moslem people try to handle their own difficulties—mass murder.

So now we have millions of displaced people living in Chad and Ethiopia in the middle of a desert climate, starving for food, medical treatment and in want of help. The respective government of Chad and Ethiopia are doing nothing to help the displaced people. They allow them to live on unlivable land in their countries, but they don’t want to encourage them to say.

This is just one of the many brutal wars going on in Africa right now. Deeper South it is African vs. African, so the Moslem people do not have the prize cup in being brutal. Most of the wars are tribal based. Like in the case of the Hutu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutu) and the Tutsi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tutsi). Because the early English colonists said that the Tutsi were superior to the Hutu the Tutsi have been trying to wipe them out ever since. When Idi Amin Dada (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idi_Amin ) was in power his army murded so many Hutus that he and his troops were walking in ankle deep blood in the barracks. Idi Amin Dada was a great admirer of Hitler, and a brutal dictaor. The violence has continued in regions like Rwanda where the killing was so bad that the nation had trouble putting the murderers into jail. Finally, they realized that the only way to make piece was to have a national reconcilitation. Tutsis would confess their sins to a tribunal and would then be forgiven. The Movie Blood Diamonds is about yet antoher region of Africa with bloody wars. The diamonds here are not as good as South African Diamonds, but are still of good quality. The problem is the these diamonds are mined with forced labor and the profits are used to help pay for the war and the massive killings. This is why all diamonds in the US now require a laser etched serial number, so Americans won’t buy “Conflict Diamonds.”

OK, first, it's called Darfur. And the whole world should care. Basically what is going on is a militia that is sponsored by the Sudanese government is killing off tribes of unarmed and defenseless people because they believe that their ethnic tribe is the best. The United States is calling it genocide and the United Nations has not made an offical remark about it. Not to worry, it just means that the US military will deploy to one more nation within the next year.

I don`t think it should be a matter of DOES ANYBODY CARE it should be a matter of priority... The US can`t stick their noses in /or fix everything. There are alot of important issues out there but one must * PICK their battles*... Bush has his fingers in to much at the moment.!!!!!!!He can only focus on one thing at a time and he is not doing that very well for that matter.. I don`t think he is that great of a multi-taskser.
