I'm trying to find out how much people receive as unemployment benefit in different countries. So, if you don't mind posting your country and amount, that would be great.

I've been unemployed last year as a result of corporate downsizing for the firm I was working for. The maximum gross (untaxed) I received each week was a little over $400, as that is the maximum the state I live in pays out, irregardless of salary, because I grossed over $100,000 a year and qualified for the maximum rate the state allowed.

In the United States.. It's half of your previous pay..
So.. If you made $500 a week.. Unemployment pays $250.
