hahahaha ... they aren't retainers, they're mouth guards, to protect their mouth if they get hit in the face. boxers wear them too

Actually this guy is right, a few wear retainers (you can kind of tell a retainer from a mouthgard)...I'm pretty sure Vince Carter used one in Toronto, then switched to a mouthgard when he went to Jersey.

But yea I have no idea, obviously something with their teeth, but other than that, I dunno.

retainers i don't know. But they do wear a mouthpiece. If you ever got popped in the mouth while playin bball you know why. It'll also prevent you from biting your tongue

to avoid getting your teeth all busted up...it also allows you to not lose them which is critical if you don't want to eat food out of a damn straw
