# not strictly an ultra-portable, but pretty much portable at 4.37 pounds and a 12.1" truelife widescreen
quite heavy for a 12.1" notebook cause of the power packed inside !
i would rate it a cute lil dynamite

starting with the processor, t7200 > it's 4 mb l2 cache is awesome & handles about every task with ease, save hardcore gaming., couple it with a gig of fastish ram & dedicated 256 mb graphics, it's simply explosive ,, all neatly packed in a 12.1" system

If i was you i would give that $1500 to me, hehe. JK! nah id recommend a toshiba Satellite notebook, great quality, great name, great peformance, good looking too. there cheap as now to, the A100 (there are 4 A100) different models, are $1000 and $1500, i think the PSAA8A-1HQ03R is $1000 and the PSAA9A-0K6038 is $1500, great buy for $1500, i was going to buy that for $1500 but instead i bought the P100 for $2000 (bigger screen).

Those who say Mac are not with it.....Too small a percentage of Mac users so everything costs more and less help among your friends as only eight in 100 buy Macs. One of my 5 laptops is Gateway 8510Z and it is great. Tech support 24/7, wonderful help. My CD/DVD drive went out, they sent me another, walked me thru the installation on the phone. It took 5 minutes and I was back in business.

Just make sure you buy the extended warranty from Gateway, not the retail store where you buy it. This is true of ALL manufacturers....buy their warranty, not the store where you bought it.

Macbook.
(If you want to run Windoze applications on it, you can download BOOTCAMP from the Apple web site and that will allow you to install and run Windoze as well as MacOS X, but who would want to do that?
Hell, even the Mac version of Microsoft Office is better than the Windoze version!
If you can't run it on a Mac, then it isn't worth running.
