Is a person lacking common sense or intelligence when they think that there are very few absolutes or do they have a high intellect for realizing that there are sometimes an incalcubable number of variables involved in every perception and individual reality?

Actually, it could be either.
When we are uneducated, we know there are many things we don't know. Interestingly enough, we also find that the more we learn, the more we don't know.

The first statement is true because we live in a real world with many absolutes, of which, no matter our perception, we cannot change.
The second statement is not true because there is no individual reality. There may be individual perception of reality, but perception does not create reality.

Thw word "absoloute" is very relative and dependant on various circumstances. To some it is having a regular job and money in the bank - to the others it means living from day to day. To some the latest car is the ultimate - to others even a cycle is bliss.

Yes, there are those who say everything is grey and yet believe as though anything can be absolute ........ but there are some who have put in a lot of thought into it before coming to the conclusion that absolute is a mere concept and no reality!

one can have both.common sense and also be intelligent. for example: i believe what is being implied here is the invaribles. if you had turned left at the corner ,instead of taking a right. the bus wouldn't be stalled in front of you but you still might be stopped at the red light. each direction one takes in life ,,,,changes the outcome of the way it COULD HAVE BEEN.
