Because living is a privilege that we have been given. You are only one of a million egg/sperm combinations. You could easily not have existed. So dont you want to make it worth while?? Life matters. Would you rather be living with a wonderful family, be loved, and live a good life...or would you rather, for instance, be a criminal since you think nothing matters. Steal, kill those you dont like...just do whatever you want thats bad? Its just not worth it. Its great to have a great life and matter to people and do things in life that matter and change lives and be successful and good. Its all important. If you believe in the afterlife then that should clearly answer your question. :) We don't leave everything behind. Our memory and teachings stay with those we love and leave behind. There is always someone to remember and honor your life. Thats why its better to try and make a good like then just be a bum of the street or a criminal. Dont you want to enjoy the time on earth that you have? I do!! :oD

What does matter? Figure that one out and disregard everything else that doesn't matter. I think the question is what happens at death? I think that death is an entrance into another realm.... and everything here on earth matters and effects whatever happens after we die.

time is a dimension that is permanate and solid, and although we move through it in one direction at the moment, imagine this : what if after death we were confined to travel back and forth through the life we led, forever........what kind of life would you lead then?

Because we were made to live, so why do it uncomfortably, why let others be suffering? The things we do should be intended to enrich our lives and those around us.
