What do I have to do (or what do I have to download and from where?) to make my computer recognize Chinese?

characters? My keyboard has Chinese characters plus the Chinese phonetic symbols, but my computer cannot read nor write in Chinese.

go to control panel Region and Language Options then you can add it inside language tab..then you can switch between english and chinese..also if you want to see Chinese on web pages then you can go to View / Character Encoding and select Chinese from there

what windows you're using? if you're using xp, you no need to download anything, just go to control panel > regional setting. to do this, you need your install CD.

Now all browser is supporting multilanguage already.
