You don't need more memory, but more hard drive space. If you go to My Computer, click once on your C drive. On the status bar, how much free space does it say? If it says anything less than 200MB, it's time to buy a new hard drive.

If you have never installed a hard drive, I would not recommend trying. You can really screw up your computer. Hopefully, you know someone who can do it for you.

Yes, you can.

Buy some RAM, open your PC case and install it. There's only one place it fits so you can't go wrong. As long as you don't buy the wrong type of RAM, find what your motherboard accepts before buying it. After installing it you're done, nothing else is needed.

But, apparently, what you need is more HD (Hard Disk) space. If that's really the case, buy a new HD and install it. Installing an HD requires more work than installing RAM. So I won't write here how to but will give you two links:
For a IDE HD: http://www.lifehacker.com/software/feature/how-to-install-a-hard-drive-137179.php
http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/IDE/add_2nd_drive/index.html
For a SATA HD:
http://www.pchardware.co.uk/install-serial-ata-hard-drive.php
http://www.wdc.com/en/library/sata/2779-001006.pdf (keep in mind that this is for Western Digital HDs, so you can't (unless you buy a Western Digital HD) use the software they tell you to. Use Partition Magic or whatever to format the HD. Most linux distros come with a partition program so you could download Knoppix and use it (from the cd, no need to install).

If you can (live in the USA), buy the stuff from http://www.newegg.com, they have very good prices =)

Another option would be to go to a store and ask them to do it for you.

If you are running out of space, what you actually need is a larger hard-drive. By the way, in order to install more programs on that drive, you will need to completely re-install windows on it as well.

To clean up the drive you are currently using and thereby possibly open up some more space, run the disk cleanup utility found under Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Utilities > disk cleanup.

Also, check the add/remove programs menu and get rid of stuff you aren't using.

yes! you can add more memory to you computer.

first, find out what kind of memory your computer needs. viking is a good site for that. order it and then put it in your computer. the memory should come with directions on how to do that.

alternatively, you can take it to a shop that will do the same thing for you and charge you much more than you would pay to do it yourself! :)
