dont worry about it, my purce (I only have one) is multi-colored and my sandals (I only have one pair) are grey and then my crocks (my only other pair of shoes other than concert shoes) are tan. Girls who care enough to match everything need to get their priorties in line haha.
now if you are talking something other than casual, then no, the purce dosnt always have to match

You don't have too, that's up to you... just try to get the whole outfit too match... you can wear shoes different then the purse... just make sure either ur purse has colors in it like Ur outfit or shoes... or make sure ur shoes has colors in it like ur outfit or purse, they can be a simple colored shoe also, they will go pretty much with anything, so no... your shoes and purse do not have to match.

Accessory items should match. That's like an accent on your outfit. Why do you think alot of stores sell purses with matching shoes?

ill give it to you straight NO NO NO NO......
to honest does it really matter if you are going out with both matching who is really going to notice. Once you get to the place you are going you more or less put you bag down somewhere. So you wont be carrying you bag around for ppl to say WOW oh my gosh your bag matches you shoes.
So really who care as long as you feel good wearing those shoes you spend a life times pay on it,it doesnt really matter. No guy is ever going to notice and well all know that is the main reason we want to do it.
kel...

No! Chicks have like 50 pairs of shoes! You have to have a neutral colored purse that will go with anything.
FYI: Guys really don't look at a girls purse or their shoes anyway :-P

This used to be the rule but now its perfectly acceptable to have shoes & purses compliment each & not match completely. remember the rule about having your lipstick & nails match, not so much anymore

No. Watch What Not to Wear on TLC and they will give you some great tips on this topic. For me, I have a fantastic red leather purse that I adore and I wear it with everything. As they say on WNTW, they don't have to match, they have "to go". If you have a pair of terrific red leather stillettos and a dark brown purse, they go. If you have a terrific red leather person and bronze colored sandles, they go. Good luck :) Have fun!

Most of my purses and shoes (other then sneakers) are black for the simple fact that it doesn't show dirt as well as other colors. I guess I'm weird because I care more about comfort, price and function then anything else.
