I am almost five months pregnant and I want to start getting my plans in order for my baby shower. Some might say this is jumping the gun, but I want to price things and see how much money I have to start saving for this special date. Now, the baby theme is Classic Pooh, but I wanted the cake to be in the shape of a gift box, well the Tiffany's box-style. I wanted it in 2-tiers, but I can't seem to find a cake maker in the Detroit area that does this. So I have to depend on the help of you guys. Please help me!!!! I WANT THIS SO BAD. So if you know any shops or person in the Detroit metro area with a catalog of cake they did or a site I can get to, please let me know.

no said I was planning this event myself. I just want the cake I want. That all I have control over. Get this straight for the ones that already replied, 'Who gives a damn about being tacky or not.' My bestfriend and baby godparents are planning this event, but they can't find anyone to make the cake that we all decided on. So if u can't help, don't reply for the damn points. To all the others that are genuinely trying to help, thank you. But for those that have already answered the question with their on bits of bullshit, I hope somebody some where love ya'll, then you would have to sit and reply to real people question just to earn hoe *** yahoo points.

wow people can be soooo rude!!!!!
no, you are not jumping the gun, and i dont believe either that you are planning your shower by yourself.....my mother and mother in law planned my shower, but i too made it clear there was a cake i had seen before that i wanted....they were actually thankful because it was once less thing for them to worry about!!!! they also ran every decision by me to make sure i was ok with it...it is my day after all!!!!
like the other helpful women said, i would find a wedding cake bakery....they can make some of the most exquisite cakes, im sure they can make a tiffany style box...just bring a box or a picture of one to them and ask if they can do it...if they cant ask if they reccomend any other wedding or special occasion bakeries that can...
here is a link i found if someone is crafty enough to try and do it themselves!!!!

No - you're not jumping the gun. You're the mommy afterall! Most baby showers happen sometime in the 7th month so you'll be showing your bulge to your friends, far enough along to believe you won't miscarry and not so far that you could miss attending because you're giving birth! I think that you should talk to someone who does wedding cakes and a small business not a more commercial baker. There are probably a gazillion wedding cakes like what you're describing - take away the roses and add on the baby items. Wedding cake people are probably the most likely to do something very custom like this. Really, a friend or family member should be throwing you a shower and helping to provide the things that you would like and doing all of this research for you. In fact, better to just relax and let someone else do it all!

Your query is smart. I did not have a child bathe for my moment baby, due to the fact my oldest was once 2 and a part. But it was once 8 and a part years later that I had my 3rd baby, and I did have a child bathe. Someone had the bathe for me, I did not plan it or some thing. Now I am pregnant with #four, who will likely be born two.five years after baby #three, and I do not anticipate a bath. I feel it's utterly alright to have a child bathe if in case you have a giant hole among your youngsters like that. The entire factor is to get you the child units you wish to have. Just be certain you may have any person else throw the bathe for you, due to the fact it could seem bizarre in the event you had one for your self. Good good fortune.

Technically you aren't supposed to plan it, its supposed to be given by a friend or a relative. Its considered bad etiquette to plan your own. So first thing you need to do if you want to be involved is to find someone to host it, and try to control them from the background.
Look for a specialty wedding cake place because the cake you're talking about sounds like a wedding cake.

You do know that you're not supposed to have anything to do with planning your own shower right. So that also means you don't have a lot of say in what kind of cake you get.
Relax, enjoy the day, these people are here to shower you with gifts for your new bundle of joy.
Be grateful and not so picky.
The cake will get eaten, go bad, or get thrown out.
Friends and family are forever.

Hmmm. It is totally against all etiquette to throw your own shower. It's tacky to invite people to an event to give you presents. Your sister, friends, coworkers...they should give you a shower and do it however they'd like (and they pay for it). This way you don't spend your money (which you need to save in preparation for the baby) on the shower. Maybe one of your friends could make your cake in the shape you want by making 9x13 sheet cakes and cutting them to make squares.

Your not suppose to plan your own baby shower. A family member or friend is suppose host the baby shower. It's rude to plan the baby shower for yourself let alone tell the host how to plan the baby shower. Be happy with whatever the host picks out its their money being spent to give you the baby shower.
