There are sooo many things this could be.....

Fogginess in the finish -- most likely due to moisture build-up in the finish itself... like if someone set a cold glass on the bare wood (no coaster, tsk tsk) -- A quick simple remedy for this is your hair dryer. Use it on the low heat setting, and gently waft it back and forth across the 'haze' and it will remove the moisture from within the finish. Ive used this 'repair' myself many times. (Dont hold the dryer too close to the wood, and dont get in a hurry, heheh.. and try to 'burn' it out by holding the dryer in place too long)

Spots ON the finish, rather than 'in' it. -- this has to be caused by something being dropped, sprayed, or dripped on it. Find the cause, and put a stop to it, hehehe. I would ask here, if the spots are in the exact same location everytime you see them.... and I mean EXACT. If they are not... then its most likely something happening in the room.... hair spray... deoderant.... could be a number of things. If the spots are in the same general location... are quarter sized or larger.... I'd start looking for leaks, lol.

Whatever happens.... do NOT attempt to strip the finish without consulting a furniture restorer, or builder! You could be biting off more trouble than you want... and it might be a really simple fix.

If you can provide a better description, or better yet.. some photo's of the 'spots'... you can most likely get more specific answers.

Good Luck!

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/OGmpl
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

My guess would be water spotting. It obvisouly is deep in the wood. You can probably either live with the old english or refinish.

I was really hoping this was a troll question. LOL
