Since cricket is a game of uncertainties as has been proved on number of occasions in the past, nothing can be predicted for certain about the outcome of a tournament in advance.

As far as the world cup is concerned, any prediction about winners is all the more difficult at this stage as not even the players of each team has been finalised and no one knows at
this point of time what will be the form of players at the time of world cup, which is few months away.

While most people consider that Australia will defenitely win the World Cup, I strongly feel that though they are presently No. 1 in the rankings, one or two bad performance will disturb all the calcultions and as such they cannot take it for granted that they will be defenite winners.

It all depends upon the performance of the tems on the given day.
I, therefore, strongly feel that any of the top 8 teams has a chance to win the world cup at this stage.

There are three teams:

West Indies - In their own back yard.
Australia - Damn good
South Africa - Played in all the semi's, since their re-admittance to international cricket, except for the world cup hosted by SA.

South Africa has been so unlucky in their previous world cups, that I really think they cannot choke any more. They will give everybody hell and will beat the Ausies by 2 wickets.
