I just upgraded my pc by making the memory a pair of two (2) 512MB with PC3200 speed (400ddr). My pc does recognize the memory as now 1GB.

However, it still runs on Single channel memory.

Is there a switch or setting I can set to make the PC recognize the Dual-channel capability?

Other specs:
P4 2.8 GHz w Hyperthreading
Win XP Profesional
128 MB AGP Graphics

When I boot up, DOS-level message shows I'm on Single Channel memory with 1GB of memory.

Dual channel memory is automatic. The trick is that you need to install the memory in specific slots. Typically they are odd or even slots, rarely sequential slots. Read your motherboard documentation.
