I'm a Bengals fan and am getting tired of seeing them get arrested every other day, I'm thinking that the league should start some harsher penalties. They're making millions of dollars, the least that they can do is stop causing problems with the public and getting arrested left and right. Anyone agree that they're getting away with too much and not being punished enough?

I feel you,
I think professional athletes need to be especially careful of their behavior in the public eye...not just fans.

Look how Hollywood sold jaegermeister in the movies as the drink of choice by pro athletes...thats made here in germany and it's absolute crap. German's laugh at how gullible we are because we drink it thinking it's what rich people drink...gag
If a person had any class or education whatsoever, drinking jaegermeister would be right down their with a bottle of riple in a paper sack.

So it's important that public behavior is a priority in a pro athletes life. I think the embarassment of being all over the news as a drunk is a good start...don't keep them from the game...
but how about fining them 75% of their yearly salary...
we could do that with other celebrities as well.

Make them still play the GAME but without pay. I think if they get to make the kind of money they make for playing a game and are pretty much above the law then at the very least they should still have to play the rest of the season but for free.

I think that those $10k $15k or $25k fines are too little. i think they should be fined by % of their contract. more money you make, more you pay. I think they should get a 1 week suspension, maybe more. but i really agree with you that they are not being punished enough. these players are public figures
