i bought a $30 tree from target and while it was a great "value", the tree looks like a Charlie Brown tree no matter how many ornaments i pile on it. i'm not a fan of that silver tinsel stuff or that metallic garland, but at this point i'll consider them if they will really help make this tree look better than the $30 i spent on it. are there any tricks to help close up the empty spots between the (fake) branches and make this tree look fuller - without buying a new tree? (which is probably what i'll be doing as soon as the clearance sales start.)

I have a 10 x 13 storage shed filled to the top with Christmas.........
This is where I would start
#1. Do you have LOT"S of lights. if not that helps
#2. Always make sure to use different SIZE bulbs
( very large to medium and even small ) make sure they are dispersed all over evenly.
#3. Use ribbon to make bows for fillers
#4. Special Hint:
I bought special craft baskets small ones (big enough to say hold 1-egg) all the same color white, tie them on with preferably plaid ribbon
WHITE colors make the tree look fuller.

#5. Always buys decorations at the end of the season when they are marked down 50% to 80 %

That is why I have so much..........with very little cost.

NOTE: I don't just have a reindeer or 2 and a sleigh............I have 8 ( 4 ft )with a flying Rudolph and a 5 foot sleigh.
Our neighborhood nick name Griswald.

As time goes by you can accumulate lots of decorations and at 80% off maybe a bigger fuller tree.
GOOD LUCK and MERRY CHRISTMAS.
I am on a very short budget but that discount really saves.

I have a cheapo fakie too- I went to walmart and bought a package of garland (not the shiny stuff-the stuff that looks kind of like the greens from a tree) I think it cost like $5 or $10 for 75 feet. I just layered it in between the branches before I put the lights and decorations on it. You dont know its there unless your head is in the tree, but the tree looks really full!

Several ideas, some of which I do for my own Charlie Brown Tree! Poor Charlie, he is 30 years old, and is showing his age. He is out in the breezeway, in front of the glass door, from the street, he looks good!
Fill the big spaces in the tree with big bows, or big ornaments, dolls, teddy bears, or toys. I do this on my big expensive tree, too, it works. I have a Santa face, that looks real. I put him in a space at about adult eye height, and he peeps out, and scares people, they think it is a small child peeping. Cool!
I fill the smaller spaces deep inside the tree with ornaments, and some crochet snow flakes, pine cones work, too. I put them almost at the center pole, to hide it.
Bought a can of white flocking for Charlie Brown, it helped.
Shop around, there are lots of kinds of garlands, you might find one you can tolerate.
And I hate to say it, but I love the tinsel, and it does fill space, and it is cheap!
Merry Christmas to you and your Charlie tree!

I can relate. The tree I bought for my office is very much a Charlie Brown tree> We put some garland on it and believe it or not it did make a world of difference! It gave it some "shape" and filled it right out. It doesn't look too bad now at all.

Good Luck... Merry Christmas

This is the first year that we haven't put up a big Christmas tree, Judy. But our kitchen is being remodeled, brand new cabinets are just all over the place, and to be honest, we didn't have a clue as to where we would put a tree this year. We were planning to buy a small, tabletop type of 'Charlie Brown' tree this year, but even that idea went by the wayside. All we have is a tiny, live tree sitting in our den. All this tree has on it is a small red bow. I didn't want to put any 'hot' lights on this live, little tree because I didn't want it to die. After the holidays are over, I want to plant our little tree on our four acres of land where we are going to built a new house. Our son is a Junior in high school and we're not about to jerk him out of school where most of his friends are...we'll wait until after our boy graduates to built our new home. Fortunately for us, our son said he's moving to our new house with us!

What is wrong with a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Why does your tree have to be full looking? Is it that important to you? If it really bothers you that much then chuck the tree and spend more money on a new one.

I honestly believe that all Christmas trees are beautiful no matter what their size or fullness. The fact that you are alive and well and able to decorate a Christmas makes it beautiful in itself. Be sure that you hang a few ornaments that mean a lot to you (maybe they stand for something or someone special made them, etc) and your tree will be beautiful to you and that's all that matters. Merry Christmas!!!

Go to the Dollar Store and get more ornaments!! As long as you don't have pets--much as you hate it--Tinsel, Tinsel and more Tinsel!! We had a pitiful sad tree many years ago--I covered it with tinsel and lights!!! This is when I discovered tinsel and pets don't mix--the catbox and catbutts were very festive that year--the vet bill was not so festive!! Cats survived--now I just add lights to everything!!

Instead of tinsel garland put small feather boas or fabric ribbon, it always make my tree look beautiful. Put lots of lights on it too. You could also put beaded garland on it too!!! Mix in some higher end x mas ornaments it you haven't already.

The Best thing you sould do. is to go back to target and get your money back befor its to late to get your money back..Then if you can't get your money back then you will be stuck with your tree for your life!! unless you put it outside for free or put it outside and have a sine over it that says $18 bucks for christmas tree "
and if you get your money back from target you can buy a new tree with the money that you got back from target..And then you wont have to worry about the tree anymore becuz you will get a new one with the money you got back from target!!!..Or you can go look on the news paper and see if there are any free trees on there! Your Welcome And Merry Christmas!! go to www.kindles.com
