I don't think there is anything wrong with it. You probably had a bad experience and now you are making a generalization because of that one experience.

I don't shop at Home Depot a lot because they are higher priced for the same quality than Menards in our part of the country.
I have shopped the "Home Stores" for 30 years, and I have seen vast variations occur in the stores.
There was a time I would not shop at Menards because their quality was lousy. Knox Lumber was the best for value and quality at that time. Knox changed significantly over a 10 year timeframe, with quality and service decreasing, and Knox eventually went bankrupt.
During that same 10 year timeframe Menards improved their quality to the level Knox had been at their peak.
It does happen. If you have observed a decrease in quality, service or competitive approaches to business it may well be changing.
You know one thing is certain, someplace in any business there is a room full of guys wearing suits and ties who are trying to figure out how to best squeeze more dollars out of you and I and put them in their pockets. Their objective is maximum profit and the road to maximum profit may be cutting services, raising prices, cutting quality.
Other suits may look at the same issue and come to the conclusion that maximum profit are obtained with good service, high quality, and a fair price.

there was a good article in businessweek magazine that stated that hd's recent customer satisfaction level was one of the lowest among large companies. the CEO is smitten with the military's way of operation, and has carried this into the company to the extent that the only thing that counts is hitting numbers and fattening the bottom line, to the detriment of everything else. managers who don't hit the numbers are fired immediately. their philosophy is to be at war with the customer, and it shows when you try to deal with their employees (if you can even find one)
it took them 3 weeks to get 2" pvc electrical conduit back in stock at the local store here. they are out of stock on so many things it's starting to look like k-mart in there.

I think it is a very good store. I ordered four new windows for my home, two weeks ago, and he said it will take about two weeks, before they came in. On monday, got a call and he said my windows were in, so yesterday, I had someone pick them up for me, and today the guys installed them The point is, he said about two weeks, and he was right. So, now I only have ten more windows to go...lol..sorry about your problems, did you speak to someone about your troubles? I hope you can get it resolved..Good Luck..

I think you can mark the decline as the day my abusive basshole, crazy, drunken, mean, ex-husband went to work there. It certainly lost my business.
