there was a fuel pump recall on 93 acura's
contact nissan at 1-800 647-7261
the recall campaign number is 93-U3005
there should be a sticker under the hood if you have already had the service done.
If not you get a free fuel pump which is likely the culprit
you do not have to be the original owner to qualify

Most likely it is the distibutor assy. The Altimas (and Hondas) of that era had many problems with the units. (I had a '93 Altima and the exact thing happened to me). They are not serviceable and entire unit must be replaced. I bought a used one for $60.00 and drove it another 60,000 miles without so much as a hiccup. Mechanic can test the unit if you can get the car to him.

If you replaced the alternator with a remanufactured one, It may be that the voltage regulator or alternator has failed or is failing again. Some rebuilders do not use high quality parts. Have it checked.
