I saw 2 red orbs in the sky tonight while I was watching the meteor shower, and my question is: on this night (Dec. 13, 2006) can you see both Venus and Mars?

Venus and Mars are on opposite sides of the sun,
so you won't really be able to see both at the same time.

Venus will be visible in the evening, towards south-west,
just after sunset, but it will be fairly close to the horizon.

Likewise, Mars will be close to the horizon, but you'll have
to look towards south-east, just before sunrise tomorrow
morning.

The 2 red orbs you saw may have been the red giant stars,
Betelgeuse and Aldebaran, which are quite close to each
other on the celestial sphere, in the eastern sky.

In the morning right before the sun comes up. Last week you could see the triangle of mars, jupiter and mercury. They formed a perfect triangle. They had been hidden for a while because they have been making their pass behind the sun making it impossible for us to see them.
