If you don't know what someone celebrates I think it is best to say "Happy Holidays". You are after all wishing everyone happiness during whatever holiday they may celebrate. Many people seem to think that Ramadan is during December (which it's not this year, it was in September and October-- as someone mentioned Muslim holidays are based on the lunar calender). Their new year is going to be around our new year though as someone also mentioned.
Also remember that just because there are a lot of holidays this time of year, they aren't all the biggest ones for their religion. If you celebrate Christmas spread Christmas cheer but wish everyone happiness :D

Answer: "Merry Christmas".
Look at your calender for December 25.
It says Christmas.
Christmas is in It's essence, is a religious observation.
Not a holiday.
Labor Day is a holiday.
There is a difference.
"Happy Holidays" is a joke.
Why are so many people worried about possibly offending another religion? If It occurs, It is not intentional....
Christmas is just that... Christmas. Period.
If someone is of another religion, I respect that.
But calling Christmas a "holiday" offends me.
Holiday Tree? Stop.
It's a Christmas tree.
Merry Christmas!!!!!!! :)

Since they are not Christians and Christmas is the birth of Christ, my guess would be no they don't acknowledge it as a holiday. But if they live in the US, they know it is a holiday for most of America, so saying Happy Holiday would be okay.

if you are a christian it does not matter what holiday muslims celebrate. say merry christmas because that is what your religion is about. your celebrating the birth of jesus, not a season or number of days or time of year. and if someone from another religion feels slighted, well they can go cry to their god. Because you can damn well bet they celebrate their special days and dont make any allowance for your presence.

How about, "Hello, good to see you!" Muslim holydays do not follow the Gregorian calendar at all. They slide up 11 days every year, so any one can show up in any season, and the chances of an appropriate one being in the vicinity of December are rare. So unless you have a calendar and can tell a feast from a fast, keep it cordial and general.

I continually ignore about those e-mails; purely hit delete after I study the first line or so and be certain out that it truly is offensive and insulting, and that i in no way reply. possibility is that whoever despatched it to you replaced into attempting to get an boost out of you, so attempt no longer to furnish him or her the pride. i'm area of an cyber web "prayer crew" the position human beings furnish prayers for an extra; a good type of the human beings in contact are somewhat conservative and in no way realized that i replaced right into a lone leftist between them, even even with the reality that i'm non secular, too. they'd deliver me a good type of terrible stuff bashing the left; in problem-free words after I lost my mood and fired lower back an e-mail preserving "do not deliver me something like that ever lower back." something of the time I purely hit "delete" and handed over it. you'll waste a lot less ability that way. good luck and God bless. by the way, have you ever heard about the e book noted as "Christmaskah." it truly is meant to be a delightful account of celebrating both holidays.

happy holidays is better. we don't celebrate christmas. our holidays are dependent on the lunar calendar and so they change in time per year. this year Eid al Udha will be on Dec. 31 (go figure!). So half the world will be drunk and the other half will be slaughtering sheep! LOL!
