Unfortunately, even if you agree to sign away the benefits, nothing, in the current state of law and jurisprudence, lets you escape the duties attached to paternity, no matter how unwanted or unexpected the child is, or even if she told you she was barren or on the pill or otherwise unable to conceive.

People cannot just sign away their parental rights (which is a totally different thing than custodial rights), and they certainly can’t do it just to get out of paying child support. Termination of parental rights has to be approved by a judge. They are generally very reluctant to approve it, unless it’s for the purpose of adoption. And ‘being tricked’ makes no difference. Anytime you have sex, you’re taking a chance that your partner will get pregnant. If that happens, you are responsible for providing for that child.

Was he tricked into having sex? Any man who risks sexual intercourse should know that a pregnancy might develop. Keep it in your pants or stop complaining about babies.
