The Treaty of Versailles & the setting up of the Weimar Republic - the treaty was a big punishment for Germany, disallowing her to have more than 100,00 troops, ceding Lorraine-Alsace to France & East Prussia to Poland & banned from having armoured forces. This also led to a poorer economy from which Hitler took the opportunity to rise to power by promising deliverance.

Formation of the League of Nations which ultimately failed & was subsequently replaced by the UN after WW2

The fall of monarchies - specifically the end of the Romanov, Hapsburg & Hohenzollern dynasties in Russia, Austro-Hungary & Germany respectively.

The fall of the Ottoman Turks - the Arab states broke free from Turkish control with help from the British

The Central Powers fell mainly beacuse of lack of resources & starving population as Britain had an effective naval blockade & their economies were on the point of total collapse.

The turning point was due mainly to the emergence of tanks that first made an apperance in the battle of Arras in Cambrai & also to American intervention which injected more fresh troops to the allied cause.

The entry of the United States into the war in 1917 provided new troops and material that the Central Powers could not compete with. The British had managed to blockade most raw materials to the central powers and food and fuel were very short in Germany. American resources was most likely the turning point.

The real outcome of the war was World War II. The imposed armistice so punished Germany that it lead to the rise of Hitler and the Nazi Party in Germany.

First when the war started it was almost a merger for Russia/Turk, but the Ottoman society fell again, and the US entered, and then they lost. The Kaiser was beaten he was a monarch it left Germany in poverty and of course they were poor sports about the whole thing, instead of reaching out and becoming allies they chose to follow Hitler just like the domineeing Kaiser into another war for world domination. It seems that they think they are superior, and they wont quit, how many times do we have to beat them? Anyway, aggressors and bullies always end up the loser eventually. You need to go to www.history.com you can type in the search bar WWI and get audio/visual as well

Both screwed over post-war Germany. edit: people obviously died, the morality isn't in question, the outcome is. The economy of Germany suffered post WWI due to the Treaty of Versailles, and post WWII, Germany was in ruin once more and was forced to split into two creating a communist half and a free half.

Be sure to look up the attempt at creating the UN by Woodrow Wilson as well, that's a major factor.

As far as battles, the turning points were the Somme and Verdun, or I think so at least.
