Etiquette books say to gift down not up. If you have subordinates, buy for them. Unless you really love your boos, I wouldn't buy for them.

No, presents are not "required" and in fact can sometimes be against policy or illegal. However, it depends on your relationship. I have had bosses that have been real mentors, supportive and so forth; and others that were exclusively professional. I think sometimes that a card is enough ("thanks for the encouragement and support this year") sort of thing. Also, cookies do well also.

Absolutly not, unless he/she is a good friend, then pick up something cheap.
Guy- cologne set
Girl - candle set
Just give them a Christmas card, and maybe you could make a batch of homemade warm and goey Chocolate Chip cookies, wrap it really pretty hand the card and the cookies to them and wish them and their family a warm Merry Christmas.

nicely, i think of it incredibly is a controversy of non-public selection. It relies upon on the relationship. etc. in case you opt for to purchase them a token present, yet sense unusual offering one in simple terms from you, advise to co-workers you may opt for to pitch in and get one combination present from all and sundry.

It is customary to do so. Something small and tasteful. Your boss will be giving you something.
