Don't buy anything in hurry. What I would suggest is go to the showrooms of various car companies. Check out the features of all the cars which they have on offer within your range. Compare all the cars. Check out what you are looking for, like mileage, looks, service backup and other things. Remember one important point that when you go to a show room they will tell you only things which are good on their model, so try to get some other aspects also. Once you decide on a car go to various show rooms of same brand as you may get different offers from different dealers. So take time to go to various dealers, check out the offers and features of various models, then decide. As I don't expect you to buy a car very often.

Actually it depends on the your priorities. If ur budget is limited, u can go for Maruti 800. But it has very less legspace, just like alto. Now, WagonR, I don't like the shape of it. Zen is good. The new one, Zen-Estilo, I don't know about it. But it looks bad. Santro and Zen are good choices.
Bottom line, go for Santro or Zen. But don't take anybody's word for it. Try all the cars, test drive the best options, then go for buying the car.

None of the above mentioned cars keeps an inetrnational standard except Palio. If your pocket is thick, go for Palio

SANTRO XING easily beats the competition.its spacious,powerful & looks good too.wagon r looks like a box on road n alto,zen,m800 are really small.
PALIO also looks good but its spare parts are not easily available n are quite expensive.
so go for SANTRO XING

wagon R ..that too the earlier model black colour.....New zen comes second......if space is a major constrain with money go for a maruti 800.....pefered a 2 year old with true value..2004 model before santro is also an ok buy.....alto is waste

I should go with the WagonR, but if u have the opportunity of buying a Aerio(Liana) u should go for it .
