The sealing of a waste according to the requirements (Law 606/92) and the waste classifica- tions can be achieved by some, or a combination of these sealings: mineral, geomembrane, asphalt, Geocomposite Clay Liner (GCL) (Matys, 1994). Frequently, landfill liners are made of a mineral seal (mostly of compacted clay or soil, where clay is predominant). In places where there is sufficient occurrence of these soils, mineral sealing is recommended.
