I would like to make a long term investment in a company that deals with fiber optics. Does anyone have any stock tips?

i think fiber optics are going to be a huge advancement in communication. They are already building new homes with fiber optic wire in some places.

Im a researcher in that field and I dont know if they will make you money but I hope they do. They're fun?

Invest in a company that will own the infrastructure, not make the parts. Invest in the AT&T of fibers before AT&T became so misguided.

You could also look into GLW ( Corning Inc.) they make the actual fiber cable that other companies install.
Especially if you are thinking " long term". Day to day, GLW stock is volatile...up, down, up... But, they also have a large market in the flat glass for the bigger TV screens being made today ( and in the future)....and a specialty business in required filters for the zillions of diesel trucks you see!!
