Yes, you can use rainwater to refill a car battery. Best if you collect the rainwater in a jar or clean bucket using a fine gauze to filter out any particles or bugs that may have been caught by the rain. The problem with tap water is that there are often chemicals that have been added to purify the water for drinking. The wrong chemicals, like chlorine, can neutralize or activate the sulphating of the battery plates, which can lead to premature battery failure.

The water in your battery is only part of the liquid. The other part is acid. Rain water is better than water from a well or city water. The only water you should use in a battery is distilled water that you can pick up at most grocery store. Don't use spring water like city and well water there are minerals in those waters plus chemicals that will harm your battery. So use distilled water only... Good luck...

Rainwater can have dirt in it. Ever notice how clean the air smells after rain ? Use distilled water. There are no minerals and of course it's clean.

yeah, one can use rainwater as car battery liquid / water.....as long as it is clean....

Just wait when it rains heavily, then one can start collect the rain water after half an hour of heavy rain.....This is to let the early rain water to bring down the dust and particles in the air.... after the air is purely clean... start collecting the rainwater with clean bucket.... best have a filter at the collection bucket....

rainwater is pure water.... its the dust and particles in the air and bucket or utensil used to collect the water that contaminate the pure water....

Happy DIY

Use distilled water. If you have a dehumidifier in your house use the water from that.
