I leave a 10HP John Deere Lawn Tractor outside all winter covered with a tarp. I hava been doing this for at least 10 years.

I have never had a problem starting it. Sometimes it has sat for 6 months without use.

I have gotten mice in the exhaust muffler of all things. That occurred at least two or three times. I tried moth balls with some success. This year i'm trying dryer sheets because someone told me mice hated the smell.

You will need to do something to assure that mice don't move in to your vehicle as it sits.

You should also probably remove or at least disconnect your battery cable. Unlike a lawn tractor there are items in the car that draw electricity that will cause the battery to go dead. Dead batteries can freeze and bust spilling sulfuric acid.

If your tires are decent I'd also put it up on blocks. (Hopefully no one will remove the tires for you.)

If the car is being parked out in the country, putting a tarp over the top of it wouldn't hurt.

I once saw someone suggest removing spark plugs, and putting a squirt of oil in each cylinder. I have never done that. Perhaps some of the other people our there can discuss that.

Good Luck!

Get a good tarp or a car cover and put on it and it should be fine. If you want to be really sure nothing so much as touches the paint you could use that shrink wrap plastic stuff that they use to wrap boats with in the winter, lol.
