Maybe as a last resort. You could get sued for doing it. I'd call Animal services first and check around where the car is parked to see if someone knows the owner. At a mall, have a page sent out for the idiot who locked his dog in the car! You'll have a crowd in no time and the owner will be humiliated into not doing it again.

Yes. I would give the dog water, a hug & a walk. I would also call Police or/and RSPCA to check on the animal & to book the irresponsible owner of the vehicle.
In Australia is ilegal to leave animals & kids unatended in cars. Here we had few sad cases with kids & animals dying inside locks cars.

No, but I'd definitely call the authorities. My luck, the owner of the car would sue me for everything I own if I broke the car window, or else I'd cut my arm off trying. So yeah, I'd call the authorities and stay with the dog until they got there.

It depends on the situation. More than likely I would call the police to get help. If they didn't respond in a timely manner I would break the window. I couldn't let an animal die and walk away.

Yes I would because that's animal abuse. Not to mention, I've heard stories of cops doing the same thing. I'd probably call the cops first and then break the window.

i can get in trouble
maybe the dog is there for a reason
the owner's fault if the dog dies
owner might have just left the dog for a couple of sec. and be back soon
i'll only break a window if its a child, baby

first i would see if i could open any doors, if not i would try to find the person. if i cant do that i would wait for that berson to came back and tell them im turning them in...
